I have a 90 mustang I recently rebuilt the engine completely.car is all back together but my mechanic didnt time my car right so it wont start just backfires out the exhuast when cranking the engine.can anyone help me fix my problem if your a good mechanic call me please

i had the same problem, but it was my valve lash, i had it to tight it just popped and spit and cranked slow

He didnt time the car at all I basically got left hanging so I was trying to get advice on how to do it myself

try readjusting your distributor since all it is doing is spitting and/or backfiring when the engine is cranking.

Was it the long block you built? because if it was completely seperated chances are the cam is of by a tooth
