Ok I am in the blind here. I have only found one other post on the net about this and there wasnt an answer posted.

I have a 351 in my fox. Engine code is rubbed off so its a 74/84/94 I assume out of a truck.

It took every trick in the book to remove the oil filter off of the block. I tried to spin the NEW FL-1 on and I only get about .5-1 turn before it binds. Then it will take some serious effort to install the new filter. WTF?

My guess is maybe the post was replaced. No wear marks indicate as such and the threads arent "gummed" up either so I am sitting here scratching my head. Car is on jacks an need to figure this out quick. Please help!

I mic'd the OD of the post, inside the threads, @ 19mm
Thread pitch seems the same as the FL-1 but ID on that is 17.5mm

HELP!!!

The verdict:
So after some much needed math and research I determined I MUST have the correct one in there. So even tho the threads LOOKED fine, I decided to start filing them from the start since thats where the problem was occurring. Well after a pretty good clean up of the first 3 threads, the filter had a tight spot but spun on good after that. Problem solved [Smile]

Thanks for all your advice guys.
