Does anyone have personal experience with the 17 x 9 wheels. I have read that the widest up front should be 17x8.

I have 17x9 Cobra R's with 255/40 on my 91, with Maximum coilovers:

and have 17X9" Cobra R's on my 91 Coupe with 275/40's

Yes, the fenders are fiberglass, but the tires and wheels still have plenty of room next to the Bilstein/MM coilover. [ February 18, 2011, 03:28 PM: Message edited by: straightliner1 ]

So you don't have any problems with the 255/40/17? Are you using spacers or steering limiters? I want to be ready when I get my wheels.

I run 17x9 wheels with 245/45-17 tires on my 87 fox with sn95 spindles and they rub the fenderwells at full lock in either direction. [ February 24, 2011, 08:15 PM: Message edited by: PWR HNGRY 302 ]
