You may want to list what engine you're rebuilding...

Are you doing a full rebuild, or just gaskets?

Tear down the shortblock. Have it mic'd to see if it's within bore specs or if you need to over-bore it. Basically, you'll need all the bearings (cam, rod, main) and piston rings for the appropriate pistons. A gasket kit, timing chain set, and have the crank mic'd/polished or undercut if it's not in spec. Check the rods, replace the rod bolts, and have the rods re-sized if needed. Decide on a camshaft if you're upgrading, choose the appropriate pushods. Check the condition of the lifters, replace if necessary. Block will need to be cleaned and mag'd, at a minimum.

Yup, you would need to do a port match though.

Would I be porting the heads or the intake? And would I have to buy new pistons since it twisted wedge?

Opening up the intake. And as for the pistons, it depends on your camshaft selection. Nothing is cut and dried when building a engine.
