my check engine light is on and it wasnt bothering me up untill now.. is there a way to jump something and count the light flashing so many times to figure out whats wrong. or does somebody have a hand held code reader that can read whats wrong with my car thanks.

No need for a scanner. You just need to ground out the single lead on the OBD1 connector under the hood. Once you do this click to the run position and count the two digit codes.. used to have a link for this but lost it.. maybe someone else can chime in.

Just use a code reader , most smog shops will check it for free...maybe even kragens or orileys....
