i think i have an exhaust leak and i was wondering how i can tell if i do or don't.

I have a 1993 lx 5.0 wt about 130k on the motor. recently i have noticed that my mpg has gone to $h!t and also that my car has been louder (i say this bc i have been setting off more car alarms than usual [Smile]

are these signs of an exhaust leak? also, my check engine light has been coming on also. could this be bc of the leak or a bad 02 sensor?

the exhaust leak is causing the 02 to read rich therefor throwing a code..maybe its the header gaskets or maybe from the collector

thanks. i'm thinking i might have a faulty header gasket. after i fix the exhaust leak, do i need to reset the engine code or will the "check engine" light correct itself

i get lots of issues with my collectors not lining up with the h-pipe. make sure you tighten the 4 nuts (2 per side) evenly and the pipes are lined up while you are tightening them. sometimes they have to be pretty tight. also check for rust on the pipes it may have rusted through and made small holes.
