got a member offering me what some ported e7s at a great deal, biggers valves 1.94/1.55, the bowls dished, new lifters support up to .550 lift. Had them milled .030. How would these compare to stock gt40s?
All opinions are welcome [ August 21, 2010, 12:30 PM: Message edited by: 84SVOrick ]

yea possibly if the porter did a good job..see if you can get the flow numbers for it..then compare it to how much gt40's flow...

For that much $$$ you could get a nice set of aluminum heads.
I wouldn't pay more than $150-$200 for a set of "really" nice E7's.. IMO

like it was stated above
depends who ported them, can provide flow sheet, and you get a really good bargain...
in 2010 500 bills for e7's is kinda high, considering that you can go out and get "patriot" heads for a couple hundred dollars more that most likely will walk circles around ported e7's
Why would you pay 500 for heads that might flow what a gt40 head will flow...people sell gt40's all the time for 250-300

now post up what the heads you are debating about are at...you asked for opinions but you seem bent on buying em no matter what people say.SHOW ME where I said you could get aluminum heads for 400.You said "they have over 1k into em" im getting em for 1/2 that would be RIGHT around 500 right? I SAID add a couple hundred to that, that would give you 700,jump on the corral and you might find some edelbrocks or patriots for that amount. how do you know the work is good?are they showing you a flow sheet?
Heres what you want to hear, OMG THEY ARE A GREAT DEAL JUMP ON EM BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS EM E7'S ARE THE SHIT OMG IM SO JEALOUS.... [ August 21, 2010, 10:14 PM: Message edited by: phonso302 ]

Seriously? Ported E7s? Not knockin' the seller, but that's like saying you have a high-performance straw you wanna sell me, because the McDonalds one just isn't good enough.
Where can you get aluminum heads? Pro-Comps on Ebay for 400-500 all day long. Nervermind they are new...

id stay away from explorers if you go the gt40 iron route..there cc on those heads are bigger therefore lowering your compression..im running a 95 cobra head with 61-12cc chamber..the explorer is 64 i think..or you can run the gt40p heads..i still think those 289 heads would make a 302 scream ..seriously look into those

500 dollars for e7s???? think about that for a second,,,,,gt 40s done up with the same work still don't cost that much.quality port work is expensive, takes a lot of time, and a lot of experience,,,, and very outdated. the 289 heads mentioned earlier are SICK!! the cnc work has to be a thousand dollars just for that alone.not alone the valve springs, the combustion cambers, or the valves. dont buy cheap unheard of shit off the internet either, its like a grenade waiting to blow. i would def spend another 200 on the 289 heads or a lil more for somethin extra, but not no e7 stuff. lol! matter of fact just go get them on your car, so your one less person i dont have to worry about smokin on the street lolol! lmao!!
