how can i adjust the timing after pulling out the distributor i got some work done to it and now i need help tryin to set it right motor is sittin in the garage witout valve covers i got my rolr rockers adj. how can i set the timing?? i knw piston #1 has to be tdc but how do i get it there? can i go off of the valves oppein/closin??if so what must i do thanks in advanced for the hlp ppl

Turn the crankshaft pulley until the 0* mark lines up with the timing pointer

On the compression stroke. Drop the dizzy in with the rotor pointing to the #1 position on the cap.

I have a hose that is threaded on one side that I screw into the spark plug hole but You could just put Your finger on the #1 hole and have someone turn engine till it blows Your finger off the hole.
