im having a problem with my 92 gt.

observations

1. when i go to turn the ignition key, the starter is already starting to engage in position 2. i havent even turned the key all the way and the starter is already turning.

2. once the car is running, you can definitely heard something spinning, probably the starter.

i already changed the starter thinking the solenoid on the starter was jacked, but that didnt help.

any thoughts?

thanks in advance

could be the fender mounted solenoid sticking.

i removed the connection that goes from the fender mounted solenoid to the starter, and listened for the clicking/switching of relay.

i actually hear it click twice. once when i put it in position 2 (on) and then another when i turn the key all the way as if im trying to start the car.

is that the right amount of clicks? im starting to think i may have a short some where...

Test the solenoid with a DMM.. energize the coil and check for continuity onthe other posts and see if it stays stuk.. if the solenoid tests good then u have a short that's causing the solenoid to energyse on the acc switch
