My starter Gear stays ingaged after start up then after two seconds it kicks back any help please ive heard of shims but wodering if any other hints or suggestions thanx

could be your starter soenoid sticking
(fender mounted)

+2. get a new one. if it does this and does not stop, take something hard and hit the relay real hard. the relay is sticking. a good wack will make it click the other way;) .
