Im doing a stroker build right now and I am trying to chose What compression to run.

Car will not be driven on the street.

What Will the power difference be?
Can i run 91 octane on 11.2:1? Or Do i need an additive? or higher Octane?
What gas to run on both with a 150 shot of nitrous?
Will 9.8:1 accept any form of boost later?

Engine setup
-393w forged pistons/rods Aftermarket cast crank
-205cnc ported tw heads
-Cam
Duration @ .050" - 236/248
Valve Lift with 1.6 Rocker - .574/.595
Lobe Separation - 110°
-Port matched Victor jr manifod
-750 Dp carb
-150 shot

Horse power est. on both compressions?

Thanks

11.2:1 = race gas
9.8:1 = no boost

Extra compression is free horsepower, you just need the fuel system and octane to feed it. I would rather have a higher comp motor with just a little boost or squeeze than some low comp motor that you have to boost the hell out of it to get some numbers, at that point you need a mongo fuel system anyway.

Higher compression, run race gas, and squeeze it later if you want more, IMHO.

If you're not going to street drive it, why bother with pump gas? Run the 11+ to 1 compression, a bigger carb than that, and a cam with a touch more lobe sep. A nitrous setup will need race gas if you want to keep it together.

A 9.8-1 setup can run boost, you just need to know what you're doing when it comes to setting it up and tuning it.
