threw a rod befor the cruise to day. im on a low budget but im trying to find out if all 5.0 blocks are the same? if i get a 93 or 90 5.0 motor what would i need to do to the block. on mine i have a cobra upper and lower and thats bout it i heard the timing cover is different but how bout electrical stuff and little things to worrie bout

I believe the 86-95 blocks are the same. The carb motors have a diff timing cover. Also the newer blocks have roller cams

Yeah 86-95 will be the same. I believe 94-95 have different timing covers.

the only block differces In the 87-93 blocks is an extra tab for the smog pump I believe, the 94/95 doesn't have then and this will get in the way of the 94/95 brackets and trimming may be needed, it was on my car. I put a 89 in my 95

what kind of trimming cuz im getting a motor from a 93 and im just trying to see what im going to get in to. i anybody local want to help me with the r & r ill cash you out pm me im ready to get my car back this week

Well my brackets are for a vortech so yours might clear. But I just trimmed a lil 1in square out of the the bracket.

How did you throw a rod? Overrev? no oil?
All you have to do is swap over all your accessories,and timing cover + headers, intake,fuel rail and dizzy.

i been havin blow by for a while then out of know where went to go get gas i heard the rod give out i just got the motor put in from a 93 installed by totalkaos92 no need for drilling just had to swap timming cover and all the basics but it went smooth but my oil and everything was ok and i wasnt even speeding or nothing
