My dad thinks it'll be okay. But I don't know You can feel them with your finger nail. Its a stock flywheel/never resufaced, with a dual friction centerforce clutch.
Have any of you ran into this problem. If I try to resurface it, how much can I take off? Have anyone of you had a stock 5.0 flywheel exploded/break?
I dont have much cash, so resurfacing or replacing it with a used one are really my only options

I wouldn't use it. Those are heat cracks. Last thing you want is for a flywheel to let go at 6500 rpms.

What would happen if that was to happen to somebody?

Depends on if you like your legs how they are or not.

kinda like a handgrenade going off.. that is why some race classes require re-inforced bellhousings

well, the flywheel sits just pass the firewall-so lead foot may go byebye.save on gas But I didn't want to chance it unless I could save it by resurfacing, then again I had a friend who had a eclipes mitsubishi, powershift his way down the street then go booom! chunks of flywheel poking inside the car; lucky no one got hurt
My flywheel on my stang had some very small cracks seen with a 10x power loop... it looks like it could resurfaced, but my buddy had one laying around so I bought it instead. I never seen that occur on my stangs before- I've owned 6,t5 foxbodies and this is the first scary/sketchy looking flywheel I had
whats the limit measurement of resurfacing a stock 5.0 flywheel without killing the balance weight? thanks [ March 25, 2010, 10:58 PM: Message edited by: street_illegal_stang ]
