need some help on how to bring this noise level down. Ran a test with state ref and highest was 122.5db on the deacceleration around 3k. I only have magnaflows with 4" tips. EVERYTHING else is stock! If i replace the tips to 3.5 or even 3, would that help or do i have to go back to the stock mufflers? everybody at that damn shop told me it wasn't even that loud!!! any help is much appreciated. thanks...

I think the limit is like 92db, you're a bit off LOL.
stock mufflers, a guy in socal with a stock `99 cobra failed their test with stock manifolds, stock mid pipe, stock catback, he ended up having to bolt resonators in place of the tips iirc.

I believe it's 93Db at 3k rpm at 3 feet which is bullshit because you can buy dealership modified vehicles with "sport tuned" exhuast which is louder than that. California, fucking amazing. How many fine officers of the law issuing these tickets have stock exhuast and there suv/trucks/cars and so on...

Damage. Thanks for the advice. I guess im going stock. State ref told me 95db is max. My farts are louder than 95db. Even the shop teacher in the next bay over was surprised i hit 122 wit magnaflows. This is whack man. Cant believe im gettin sweated over mufflers that are and were sold legally. Yeah thanks Rosette.

Which Magnaflows are you running? Are you running the oval/canister shape ones?

Just wondering because I've heard cars with the regular magnaflow catback and like everyone else I'm really surprised those hit 122db. If you want something that is really toned down, the Borla Pro XS is as quiet as they get.
Officer Rossetti is still going at it. I swear everyone has had a run in with him or at least knows someone who has.

Buy a set of dynomax race bullets and have them welded in front of your mufflers. They will act as a resonator to quiet the exhaust and won't hurt your exhaust flow. Should pass with no problem. Mufflers are like 40 a piece.

thanks guys. i appreciate all the help/advice. Rosette is in Fremont so beware. sometimes he's on a motorcycle, sometimes he's in a charger and sometimes he's in a truck (from what i hear). so if you have to go through fremont, keep those rpm's down under 2K

Have you unbolted your pipes to check and see if the cats still have stuff inside them and are not burned out?
