I jus purchased a 89 lx coupe, 5spd, 4cyl 70k original miles, only 2 owners, basically purchased the car because i wanted a "unmolested" coupe. So basically i am looking for any links, books or advice on how i can make this swap go smoothly and pain free. Thanks for the help.

buy an `89 5.0 and swap all the parts over, basically everything needs to be swapped if you want it done right.
check the link in my sig for the original build up of my `89 4 banger conversion.

There is no such thing as a smooth and painless 4cyl to V8 swap...
But look at blinds archive of his swap, I took a look and his is very informative.

If you have friends and know what you are doing it can be very smooth and painless.
OP if you do your reasearch and read Blind's write up, you can do it in a couple weekends...

I know it won't be easy.. never had to swap a 5.0 into a 4cyl coupe... i guess you can say that i am trying to do it the right way rather than spend more than i need too.. and i know all you guys on cafords know what your talking about... well most of you do.lol. Thanks for the advice and i will appreciate any links/info anyone might have in the future.
