I have a 93' 5.0, heres the thing...
It doesn't start, I recently traded a car for it.. I found it was getting spark, but not getting fuel. I force fed it some starting fluid into the throttle body and it ALMOST started...
My dad and his friend said it was for sure the fuel pump. (It wasn't whining "priming") Without even checking the relay.
At this point, I just dropped the tank, and removed the old one, and have a walbro to drop in. Thing is, the old one doesn't look old at all and I am going to be pissed if I bought a new pump and went through all the trouble when I didn't need to! I haven't finished putting the tank in etc.
So my question is...What else could be a reason that it wasn't getting fuel and wasn't priming?
Thanks in advance, Im a mustang noob for sure...

could be many reasons why your not getting fuel.
I guess as a starting point you could check and see if your even getting power to the pump (use a test light)

Check
1. fuel pump cutoff switch 2. fuel relay under seat (depeding on model year) 3. hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check pressure
If you get to step "3" then you could either have a bad pump or bad fuel pressure regulator.

It's not the intertia switch, checked the relay. Where is the fuel pressure regulator?

I've never seen an in tank fuel pump look that dirty first of all its submerged in gas which is a good cleaner. so just because it doesnt look old doesnt mean its not.

Could very likely be the fuel pump relay. Check for 12v at the fuel pump plug.
