A Friend of mine has a vortec supercharger n was thinking of getting it off him but question is theres no model numbers cus he had it all polished so is there n e way to tell which model it is any help appreciated thanx

Without the number from the badge I dont think you can actually tell what kind of blower it us. Unless you open it up and look at the gears?

my polished procharger's info is all gone off it, but the stamp is still on the tag, just no model #, carb #, etc, I called with that stamped # and they gave me the history/specs on it.

vortech everything on the tag if missing your going to have to send in to be checked out most of the time the tag stay on when getting polished the one reson i could see the tag being removed is the may have came up missing at one time

A lot of people can tell you what trim it is by the impeller design, if that's what your trying to figure out.

You can take the drain fitting out and look into the hole with a pen light to see if the gears and straight cut or angled. Straight will be V-1, angled would be V-2,V-3, etc. A-trims have a straight blades on the impeller, where as others like s, & sq trims have angled blades.

forgive me if I read that wrong, but from what you just said it would be impossible to ID a V1 or V2 s-trim, as they would both be angled?
V3's are self contained, that's about all I know
