what would be as good tranny for a possible daily driver.
set up will be:
351w HCI efi w/ supporting mods single turbo
tranny sugestions
#1 aod #2 c4 #3 FMX #4 c6 #5 th350 #6 th400 #7 powerglide #8 tko 500 #9 tko 600 #10 t56

I would go with #9 reason - you will not have more fun on the street then having a stick. and 351 HCI turbo should be puting out some damn good numbers, so look into a built version of the tko trans.

just my 0.02 but id go with the c4 if ur gonna run a turbo, yes a 5 or 6 speed will be fun on the street but nothin beats a perfectly shifted turbo on or off the street and 4 a d/d you get too busy shiftin

yes auto would be first choice the car is setup for auto now.
i dont think the c4 will be freeway friendly

th400 be freeway freindly? whats their final gear so i can do the math with rear end gear to find out rpm/mph

CALL LENTECH AOD THAT WILL HOLD MORE POWER THAN YOU WILL MAKE IN THE FIRST THREE GEARS ONLY HOLDS 600 FT/LBS OF TORQUE IN OD EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY TRANS BRAKE THEY HAVE IT ALL TOO MUCH TURBO LAG WITH A MANUAL

if you want freeway frienly get a lectech same thing as c4 but you get two extra gears. plus you will never miss a gear more consisten then a stick [ December 29, 2009, 12:30 PM: Message edited by: 87TURBO ]

if you want fun all way down low and free way as a daily driver. gonna haveta have a couple extra gears, and i only see one over drive on your list that aint a stick.power glide is really race only.the other 3 speed trans are just a step below the power glide but still dont quite offer the full package of everday driving fun on free way and fun from stop light to stop light . prob a built aod unless you want a stick.

If this is gonna be a DD then put a manual in it. T56 would be the first choice followed by a TKO.
