mass air uses the manifold absolute pressure sensor to determine airflow based on manifold pressure for correct a/f ratio. Mass air uses the barometric pressusre sensor(looks similar to map sensor on speed density) to determine air density and a mass air meter to determine airflow for correct a/f ratio.

mass air responds better to cam changes than speed density. Its more tuneable and the speed density is a good system for a stock car, but if you are going to modify it then convet to mass air

Fox's dont have a map sensor. airflow entering the engine is determined by the maf, tps, IAT and baro.

with speed density the car will not respond well to cam changes because the ecu is only expecting a certin amount of air entering the engine. your basically upgrading to a "smarter" ecu

The 'B' cam was designed to be compatible with SD. You can go fast with SD, but you reach a point after HCI and other bolt ons that you need the real-time air measurement of MAF. MAF systems measure the amount of air, SD systems calculate it by using other factors to tune the A/F curve to match.
