89LX 5.0, no heat. A/C worked fine during summer, but now no heat coming from vents. Was told it could be the "blend valve" but I can't identify that part in my Cragens book. Where it might be and how to know if it works?? I did change the fan motor during the summer because it stopped working....could I have done something wrong here___it was pretty straight forward?? What would be the "STEPS" in trying to identify the problem......TIA hut....FMAO in Sacto!!

No leaking water, sometimes I get warm air out of vents for only a few seconds, (this makes me think the heater core is good ????) until cold air is sucked in???? Don't really have a good starting point on how to identify the problem...

actually, thats sounds more of a clogged heater core.

you could have bleed door problem you need to check the vacuum lines going to the actuator see if there leaking if there not you need to get a vacuum pump an check the actuator ti see if it works if the all are working like the should your going to need a heater core.an i can do your heater core for 150 plus parts

Hey fast hatch what city are you in? My heater core has gone out so I got the new core... Just totally procrastinating on doing it! 150 might just be worth not having to deal with it haha.

All is well inside the cockpit of the Lx once again. A special thanks to "asskickn88" for his guideance and help. also a "WARM" thankyou to all of the folks here who helped out.
What I've learned: 1) Blend flap-attacked to the temp knob by solid cable, deflects air either across the heater core or A/C core. 2) Use IR (infra-red)temp gun to see temp of hoses. This was asskickn88 idea. 3. Hoses to heater core ~$13 bucks-be careful. I removed hoses from heater core and back flushed. Didn't appear to be any problems or restrictions.
Have no idea what fixed no heat problem....after putting everything back together, heater seems to be working FINE !!!!
