Car cuts out on and off idling or driving. At first i thought something was advancing the timing and dumping fuel but i tested every sensor, changed mass air and o2's. Now im thinking maybe the ignitions cutting out. Checked msd, tfi and coil. Anybody have issues with the pick up in the distributer? Do they just go out or could they not work properly? Thanks

I had mine do that too a while ago. I ended up getting a new distributer. I tried for an after market one at autozone but it didn't work. I ended up getting oem distributer at ford and fixed the problem. It could be a number of different problems though. Good luck.

K tried different distributer, computer and double checked all the wiring and sensors. Thinking maybe an injector is sticking going to try swapping those out today.

I would check for engine codes first, next check for vaccum leaks, and then check fuel pressure.

I had this EXACT PROBLEM. Not sure if this is the case. But i had spent a ton of money and time. new everything, it ended up being my main ground wire in front of the motor barely hanging on by a thread. Check it out... could be an easy fix. I'll keep my fingures crossed for ya!
