Has anybody changed their cam out of the PI 99-04 sohc 4.6 motor and what combo did they go. Im looking in to it but i wanna kno if theres any smog legal cams out there that are worth converting. Thanx

I recently installed a set of Comp Cams in a 5.4 2v (Lightning). Nice rumble and will pass smog no sweat.

Thanx John B for da info , what about the head? where they bone stock. I was thinking of going with sum stage II patriot heads and a pair of comp cams part #CCA 102500 or TFS#1 cam combo. but with that combo i guess im goin to be lokking in sum computer tuning?

The heads were a light port, very little work done. Basically bowl and intake side. I went with the CCA-500's and matching springs. The lift isn't enough to warrant tuning on a NA setup. Mine was S/c'd though.
