I like my performers. they are gasket matched and flow great. with a setup like yours except I had a performer intake I hit 12's.. I also have never been beat by a person with 185's on a setup close to mine. but that's just my experience..

what cam? if this is gonna be a regular 302 you would be better off just keeping you Edelbrocks. People usually put 185's on strokers with a custom cam in order to get the most use out of them.

Your best bet is to call up shawn at aed and tell him what your goal is. I'm sure he can set you up with a nice package you would be happy with. the combo you posted should be enough for 12's though...

i was looking at a set of my buddys 185s and compared to my ported gt40s it looked like the only advantage they had on my gt40s were the 2.02 valves.

You're going to need at least 3.73's to even scrape 12s. With it being NA, you'll even want to think about 4.10s. Also, that track heat intake and the stage 1 cam is a mis-match. The setup would be better suited for the street heat version.

Remember to check your piston to valve clearance if your Performer's are 2.02 versions. Anything larger than .510 lift on a stock block with a inline head design is gonna be close.

I must have had a gifted car, because on 3.55's, and a very close combo to this I was a solid 12.9@108

If it were me I'd sell the performers and get AFR 165's. I agree 100% with JOHNB with the intake and cam. The 185's and notching your pistons to clear might work to... Then you could go bigger on the cam [burnout]

AFR all the way. Especially if you were going to stay NA. But if your going to charge it just keep the heads you got and you will still be in block splitting HP range.

As far as 12's with that setup NA. Id hope so I hit a 13.0 at 106 with a TFS 1 cam, performer intake and stock heads with a little cleanup. This was the 1st time at the track with the setup. It was a 90gt with a cage and full leather interior too.

just realized you were talking 185's. If it was na with that setup you dont need anything better than 165's.

Yeah I think you should get the trick flow street burner intaker or just an edelbrock performer. That Track heat has a higher rpm range than your cam and intake and will want more power than either can make. Definately make sure you check PTV clearance though.
