Will 3.73s on a lightly modded 04 GT make a large difference? If not, what should I go with next? Please let me know! Thanks!

list of mods -> o/r h-pipe, 2 chamber flows, CAI, & Pro 5.0 shifter

Gears make a world of difference with any setup, even stock. I'd consider 4.10s, as the mod motors love rpms. Don't fear the gear...

GEARS! 3.73s work good. After that I would add a plenum and t/b for a bit more power. Next I would tackle the suspension.

Another nice upgrade is a cobra brake swap on the front. Very easy to do and you will notice a huge diff in braking. Also, install a set of Hawk pads and braided steel lines while you are at it.

Ok...And your rationale for this is...?

There are only two major things that are bad for a 4.6...
1. The wrong weight of oil being used...
2. Your right foot. [Wink]

Your driving habit's will have a bigger effect on milage than the gear's. John already broke it down "don't fear the gear"!! The only reason You should consider not going with the 4.10's is if You are planning on some MAJOR mod's down the line and then You would rev through the gear's to quick. If there is no forced induction in this car's future then You should take advantage of gear multiplication now. Run a search on corral and You should find a conversion table that will tell You how much Your rpm would be effected at highway speed's, it's not as much as You would think, where people used to run into problem's was back in the day transmission's did'nt come with overdrive which made thing's "rpm's" almost unbearable on the freeway.

I went from 25mpg to 22mpg on the freeway in my `97 4v fobra when I went from 3.27's to 4.30's. I wouldn't hesitate to put 4.10's on a 2v. 3.73's will just leave you wondering 'what if'

the difference the gears made on my 4v was amazing, it went from being a really mild car, to being able to bark the 3-4 shift with 140 treadwear tires [burnout]

You are kinda far away but John B would be a good person to talk to. [Wink] Top notch work and reasonable prices & No wating around a shop all day hoping they get it done before closing time.
