Why the pistons and the overbore?
Then a potential rebalance job.
You can get a 331 or 347 kit with forged slugs and balanced for about 600 more bucks.
With the 306 or 331/347 you will need approx the same machine shop work.....

Unless the block absolutely needs it, don't bore it. Check the bore run-out and as long as it's in limits, through a set of rings/bearings in it and have fun!

That is a cool kit and all if you really need pistons.
The list I put together for you would allow for a nicer shortblock for almost 1/2 the price of that kit. You could then also use a gasket kit with like the TFS kit with gaskets that will match your ports better and be of better quality than the ones provided in the rebuild kit posted above.

yea i gotta get pistons..i think ima just go with parts list you gave me..i just need to know what pistons to get..whats a good forged set but still a reasonable price?

Just buy a rotating assembly out of an 87-92 (early) 5.0 HO.
I seen a couple of used rotating assembly for a good price of like $50 in the ford sale section.
Damn I just threw out a set of used pistons on the rods in great shape but no one wants them, now you need them. Go figure.

well i got a 86 block with the crank and rods...yea shit like that always happens ..
