ok i have a 1996 mustang gt 4.6 and i have a complete 2004 motor.the 2004 motor has 10k more miles than my 96 motor.witch short block is beter.should i just swap my 96 4.6 motor with the 04 4.6 or just swap the p.i heads to my 96 4.6.

Im no expert on 2V motors, but I think the blocks are about the same. One thing better about keeping your 96 block, with the PI heads, you will have slightly higher compression so this might produce a bit more N/A power than if you just swapped in the whole motor. do a compression and leakdown test on both, use whichever is healthier.

The Windsor block is stronger, I think that's what the 96's are but Im not completely sure, look at the side of the block. If its a Windsor block take the heads off of the 04 and put them on it.
