when i get around to changing the oil pan gasket,
should i change the oil pick up and the oil pump?
Oil gauge starting to bounce around on me. And i have a small leak i need to fix anyways.

first like the other fucking guy said.. what kind of car.. 2nd before you change the oil pump. check the sending unit.

If youre gonna have the pan off ANY car that has 100,000 or more,or its getting close,might as well change the oil pump. Assuming its an engine with pump at the bottom,some cars its under the timing cover. Different people have their own opinion,thats just mine.

I'm gonna go with the obvious and say it's a Mustang, as a simple click on the profile link states this.

If you're going to go through the process of re-sealing the pan, you might as well pull the engine and re-seal it completely. Most likely it isn't your pan that's leaking but rather your rear main seal. If you elect to change the seal, check the face (surface) of the crank and ensure it isn't nicked, grooved, etc. Most will end up requiring a seal-saver. Both FelPro and ROL make them.

In the future, state the year/make/model and try to be a little more specific with your question. [Wink]
