well shit my car 87 notch has been sitting here in my drive way since jan with a new set up ..
its a 306ci x cam and edelbrock heads and full exhaust x pipe & intake ..
i cant get it running good ... it will turn on and run but only when steping on the gas almost impossible to drive ..
it ran really good before with gt40 heads and b cam .. spun a rod bearing put new motor in and differnt cam and heads now i cant get it running well ...
ive tried to time it multiple times but after 1 or 2 hours i give up ..
late last year i did a mass conversion and it ran well for a few weeks (but always ran real ruff at start up and after running it a few miles it ran great !) then i spun the rod bearing and replaced the motor .. and im saying fuck it !
i need a shop that diagnose it and tell me whats wrong with .. or if it is just timing sumone to time it and getting running good like it was before the x cam new motor and heads ...
so someone anyone help !! lol im about to dump my lil notch !
im in the central valley and need a hook up ...

im out in patterson about 45 min form stockton war horse .. i bought a few things off u .. motors rims ..
but yeah i dnt really knw how to pull codes or check tps stuff .. this is my first mustang ..
and it was running great before all the new stuff .. and i had tore the motor aprat pulled it in and out like 4 times before this last time and its just getting annoying .. i drove it down the street a lil and it stayed on a bit longer but would still die as soon as i let off the gas ..
im just fed up with it and would rather sumone show up and fix it .. for a good price or have a shop look at it and give it back to me in tip top shape .. i have a few other projects and this is the only one stressing me out !! lol ..

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A BAD HARMONIC BALANCER...THE RUBBER LINER INSIDE HAS PROBABLY BEGAN TO CRACK AND MOVE AROUND AND THAT'S WHY YOU CAN'T GET IT TIMED RIGHT...YOU SHOULD GET A NEW ONE.BUT IF YOU DO GET A NEW ONE GET A PERFORMANCE ONE.AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY MORE PROBLEMS TIMING YOU'RE CAR...THANX LMK

Are your heads stud or pedestal mount? If they are stud you might have adjusted them wrong.

Did you check your piston to valve clearance when putting on the new heads and installing the x cam?
What does your compression look like?
Start with the extreme basics.

well i figured out the probelm . and yes the cam was installed right . it also had the right pushrods and the distributor was the right one and it was also timed right .. problem was with the balancer .. poor thing was busted ..when i removed it it u could move the outside ring from the inside by hand . when i took it off it came aprt in 2 pieces . installed a new one and car ran alooot better .
but just parted out the complete thing a few days agot to pick up a new one ..
so like everyone is saying . check out the basics first !!
