On my 87, I'm having problems with my AC. It runs fine while driving, but when I stop the rpm's drop. Sometime the car stalls. As soon as I turn it on vent it stops and the rpm's go up.
Any ideas??

Running the ac draws a lot of current. You might want to check your grounds and also take a voltage reading with your car idling and the a/c on. It should be over 14 volts. then post up with what you found

Sounds like the idle up circuit for the A/C isn't working. The idle up circuit raises the idle to compensate for the additional load of the A/C compressor. This circuit is controlled by the ECM. When the ECM gets the input that the A/C is on it sends a signal to the IAC to raise the idle., You could have a bad IAC, the passages could be partially plugged or the ECM may not be getting the signal that the A/C is on.
