tail pipes is the way to go. if the car is driven in traffic, your going to want tail pipes. if not your going to smell like exhaust any time you go any where.

I've had dumps on my 95 for 5 years now and I've never smelled exhaust and I still love the sound. I am going to dump my 68 fastback with the 532. That is going to be badass!

I've got 2 chambers dumped on my '68 and I hate them. Can't wait to get some tailpipes on it. Just way too loud.

Ya you lose a little bottom end but you make a little more hp. Not really worth it if your tryn to go fast its not gonna make a difference that makes you win a race lol. Tailpipes just sound alot nicer and focus the noise out the back, depending on what mufflers you have, i have dynomax bullets and i could hardly hear myself talk, plus i missed my tailpipes anyway so i put em back on. So much nicer.

Dumps sound like shit unless you have a really built motor. The word poser comes to mind.

not even knowing what your mods are with only 296 hp your more then likeley gonna loose hp by going with 3" instead of using 2 1/2" pipe. but hell what do i know

i had mine dumped right after the muffler for a while but recently put the tailpipes back on. dumps were nice for a while but the smell of exhaust fumes were killing me. nice to have it quiet, change the mood a little.

power losses will be negligible at best... in around town driving i could hardly tell any difference at all. And at the track i could hardly tell either. You might gain or lose somewhere in the range of 1-5 hp, which to be honest you want even be able to notice.
I noticed a bigger difference when i switched from my clutch fan to an electric fan to be honest. [ March 04, 2009, 01:46 PM: Message edited by: 86redGT ]
