Im tired of my fuel pump not kicking on so I've decided to run a wire straight from the pump to a 12 volt lead and control it with a toggle switch. Would that give any trouble down the road? And is it safe? Will I blow up and die? LOL J/k [ February 20, 2009, 12:46 AM: Message edited by: Fast92lxcoupe ]

The risk is forgetting to turn off the pump which would drain the battery and with no fuel moving through the pump, burn out the pump motor.

That is like adding another available option for something to fail. You can forget to turn it on and then the switch could fail without you knowing it either.
Why is you fuel pump not turning on...it is all in the wiring you know

Don't do it. Either your fuel pump is dying or you are having a problem in the wiring. You should fix your problem instead of trying to rig something up that is going to cause you problems later.

I've changed the fuel pump, checked the relays, checked the fusable lynks and had some experienced people take a look at it. And it still wont turn on
