So, I've got the classic car and I've got the donor car. What all do I need to pull from the donor car for the swap?
So far I have the following out: Complete Motor Trans Computer Fuel Injector Wiring Harness Computer Wiring Harness Headlight wiring harness (for the MAF) Starter Wiring Harness Throttle Cable Tranny Cables Driveshaft (for the yoke) O2 Sensors
What else do I need to pull out of the car? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. [ February 16, 2009, 10:09 PM: Message edited by: MustangNate ]

Eventually my '68 will get converted, but I plan on buying a pre-made harness. Making your own is a huge undertaking and can cost you hours of time in troubleshooting if you don't wire something up right. Check out www.fordfuelinjection.com for pre-made harnesses or diagrams if you want to do it yourself.

What year is your donor? I built my FFR Cobra and used a 2004 Mach 1 as a donor. Got a Fuel injected 4.6L 32 valve, PS, PB, ABS, and using autometer guages. If you're using a 96 or newer Mustang as a donor then you'll have to disable PATS. (Passive Anti-Theft SYsytem)

I personally think it's easy to transplant everything to your project, then start triming or extending wires to put things where you want them. Get a wiring diagram/workshop manual for that year car will also help. Especially when you are tapping into your original guages. Labeling harnesses at the plugs help put it all back together. Very important to also mark your grounds.
Your donor is easy to work with. [ February 17, 2009, 01:16 PM: Message edited by: RRRCobraSC281 ]

EEC Power relay
Fuel Pump safety cut off relay ( located in the back of the mustang )
Fusible links
Fuel pump relay
Starter solenoid
In fact, just keep the donor car until your done if you can...
There are numerous vacuum hoses, tees etc on the donor that you may find useful [ February 18, 2009, 09:58 AM: Message edited by: Stan G ]
