got a motor runing in a 1990 gt and sounded like a cylinder waas missing, so i did a quick compression test and that cylinder pulled 60lb of pressure.Pulled valve covers off and turned it over everything working according to order nothing loose or broken. So i took the head off the passanger side. i am going to put another stock E-7 head and was wondering if i should replace the lifters or pushrods??

replace lifters pushrods should be fine

What did the compression in the other cylinders read?
I would have thought that low compression would have indicated a problem with the rings ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Why are you replacing the head? How do you not know its not rings?

Low compression in a cylinder could be caused by a bad valve or bad rings, squirt a little oil in the low cylinder if the compression increases you probably have a bad ring. if you don't see any increase in the compression then you have a bad valve.

its a little to late to squirt oil head already off, will do next time, but all other cylinders read 160-180 or so, thats why i wanted to assure it can be a lifter so i can go ahead n replace them aswell..could the lifter cause it too?

Well, at this point you may want to have a machinist inspect that valve now that you have the head off.
If it looks ok the only thing to do is put all the shit back together and then do another compression check to see where you are at.
