Okay, I am kinda a newb when it comes to clutch adjustment here, so hang tight, I think I will get this right.
The tranny and 5 spd conversion was done when I got the car, so I dont know whats been done exactly.
Its a FRPP clutch and a tremec 3550 tranny.
I am having a hard time getting the car into gear at times and also having a hard time getting into reverse. I normally go into first then 3rd then reverse, but now its grinding and if I slow push it in, I can feel like something is spinning a synchro I assume. I also noticed a whistle type sound.. on take off mostly which I was thinking was the throwout bearing maybe grinding. So I am looking to adjust up the clutch.
Currently there is a ton of pedal to push but the engagement is close to the floor. I also see that it has a firewall adjuster. I read that you pull the slack in the clutch cable and screw the adjuster to make an adjustment. If I turn it out, the pedal seems to get looser and if I screw in, then the pedal goes closer to the floor. I am not sure which direction its going. Currently the adjuster is pretty far out of the firewall. I tried pulling up on the clutch and it clicked, but it doesnt seem to make much of a difference in the engagement.
Any tips or help you can offer would be great.
