Chevy does there firing order diffrent than ford. Chevy is like this <br /> <br /> D P<br /> Rear of engine<br /> 7 8<br /> 5 6<br /> 3 4<br /> 1 2<br /> Front of engine<br /> The firing order goes like this start at number 1 and going counter clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.<br /><br /> When you drop the dist it should be pointing at the number one plug. To find tdc roll the engine over and watch the exsuast valve ounce it closes you are on the compresion stroke and simply roll the harmonic balancer to 0 on the balancer and that should get you close enought to drop the dist.
