How do you find TDC? I understand the finger on the number 1 cylinder and rotate the crank till the finger pops off but it does that a couple times during roatation? right? So how do you figure if your 180 out or not?

you use your finger to determine the up stroke on the #1 cylinder, than get it at tdc by lining up the marks on your balancer with the timing marker.

There's a solid line if I'm not mistaken, etched across the side of the balancer, line that up with the pointer and your at tdc (or 180 out).

also, turn the crank with a ratchet and socket, not your starter, you may have to unbolt your fan and shroud.

#1 in that picture is the mark/groove that depicts tdc. line that up with the arrow.
