i've had this happend twice b4,and it was always the tank.usually where your sending unit goes in or the feul pump.there is a rubber ring under the units,if its on wrong/cracked old, fumes will leak through.easy fix.good luck

also check your evap cannister/line, which is near the passenger side firewall leading into your fender. the gas fumes over time dry out the rubber line which then leaks out gas vapor, which should be recirculated to your manifold. [ October 24, 2008, 06:36 PM: Message edited by: venomous99 ]

only two straps hold the tank on , and there is two electical plugs and a rubber line that pulls right off.you'll need an extention with i think its a 9/16??,and a screw driver and small hammer to tap the metal ring holding the units in.30.min job.
