where can i get some info on converting a 67-68 mustang to 87-93 efi? i got the complete electrical and drivetrain from a 89 V8. just looking for info like what wires to splice into. is there any web sites or books i can check out with step by step info and pics about this swap? thanks ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)

Nothing to splice into. Its all standalone. You need the engine harness, the oxygen sensor harness, and the injector harness. Its all plug and play so you cant mess it up.

From what I've read, the pre-made harness sold by Fordfuelinjection.com is quite a bit better made than the one by Ron Morris (which is what Mustangs Plus sells). Plus it's $200 cheaper.

how was the fuel pump handled since the tank is different. do i use a external pump or is there another option?

i used the bbk elc. inline one in the summit catalog. an tapped into the wiring to turn that on also or maybe i did it with key source. ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Ok fair enough. But I wouldnt call that splicing since he can run the hot lead off the back of the ignition and the fuel pump needing power should be pretty straightforward.

whats going to turn on the computer. unless he uses the body harness as well from the donor. he's going to need to have constant hot an ign hot an connect all grounds for the computer to turn on an run all sensors. thats if he is using just what he described an not going with someone else's kit.

Well, when he turns the ignition on, and it sends 12 volts through it, that should power up the computer just fine. Not sure why anyone would use the body harness that has no effect on the engine running with fuel injection. I answered the question for him. If you feel the need to let him know its done a different way than the way I told him then feel free.

Im not sure what you are getting at. The computer plugs into the harness which merely plugs into the engine. There are 3 grounds that need to be made. One is next to the computer. One is off the injector harness. The last is at the end of the harness(next to the starter relay on 5.0's). The 12V source for the harness is also made at the end of the harness(at the starter relay on 5.0's). I believe there are 4 of those total. That harness gets its power separate from the chassis harness. They plug in at the same location but they are not connected to each other there. His car, as well as yours, has a starter relay on the fenderwell also that allows you to get your 12 volt source. As for turning the fuel pump on, simply run wires from the relay to the pump.
The only thing an aftermarket harness would even offer is the same harness as a stock car minus the emissions connections. What else are you referring to that you think I am missing?
