Maybe some of you tech-heads can give me your opinion.
I have a 2007 Mustang. I believe this year is the first to use the tire pressure monitoring system on its wheels. The problem is that I took off the factory wheels and put on a factory set from an earlier model (05-06). Now my low pressure warning light is on almost all of the time. I'm assuming that the wheels I got don't have the sensor on them and that is the reason. I have a friend with an 05 and he has no problem with his aftermarket wheels. That is what led me to this conclusion.
The set of wheels I took off of my car do have the pressure sensors mounted on all four wheels. Is it possible to cut them off and strap them to the new set of wheels? I will likely keep the sensors for every instance that I chance the wheels if that is the case. If I can't swap them over, then I'll likely put on the old wheels. The light is unacceptable to look at.
Thanks in advance for any input.

its an easy fix. just swap the tpms sensors over to the new wheels.. just make sure, whoever dismounts the tires is very careful with the sensors... they are easy to break...

Awesome thanks. Would you happen to know how the sensors are dismounted from the wheel? Do I cut the band or is there some way to unhook them? If it has to be cut who should I have mount them?

it has to be cut to be removed. I do these all day at my shop. Most tire shops should carry the new bands with the bracket to mount the sensors. I carry them because I sell alot of wheels for the new fords and it's a must otherwise the dash light won't turn off.
