either fix the sticking problem or delete the butterfly's and rods yourself, it took me seriously about 30 minutes to do mine and I used that time to gasket match the ports on the imrc plates too...

Just curious what and where is the imrc plates and what is its purpose. I have a 96 cobra and have read about delete kits. Why is it good to delete it.

The plates go between the intake and head. They have throttle plates that block off one of your intake ports, the computer opens them at a set RPM so you have full flow. They help build low RPM torque but if you have gears they aren't really needed. I've got 4.10's and had them wired open, it seemed to build power a bit quicker. I decided to keep it stock though because I was going to smog the car and couldn't have the CEL on because of it.

They are located between the intake ports on your heads and your lower intake manifold. Literally a plate about an inch thick with rods, a spring power mechanism, and a control box that opens and closes 8 butterfly valves depending on whether or not you are above 3,000 RPM (opens above and stays closed below).

You need to go back to your tuner and enable them again because you have not done an IMRC delete. What’s happening is since they are turned off they are not opening above 3K RPM so your car is basically falling on it’s face because of restricted air flow.

You have 8 intake runners on each side of your motor on your lower intake and heads (16 total)… or 2 on each cylinder… which means you have a butterfly valve on each cylinder as well.

You need to do a delete and get a re-tune, or go back to your tuner and have him enable them again and get another re-tune.

I can’t believe your tuner would just tune them out like that without asking you if you did a delete. Not very bright of him. Who tuned your car?

Oh also, your IMRC plates should be made of aluminum since you have a 96.

Get that shit taken care of as soon as possible.

Your idle should have nothing to do with your delete.
