Ok well today i hop on the freeway and my car starts to act up. As i have my foot on the throttle my car starts to jerk or jump around, kind of like it wants to bog out. Well my vehicle shut down twice on me today while driving. this only happens when my foot is on the throttle no other time. Any suggestions, this my only vehicle so i need to figure this out. Thanks. Fuel pump going out.???

could be clogged but i think not check thye tps sensor and the mass air one of those three

were is the tps sensor located......?

on the top of the throttle body

this might sound stupid but i had a similar proublem on my 94 gt and it turned out to be my distributer so maybe you should check that

:
air spark or fuel. step 1, check codes, step 2, do major tune up (including fuel filter). step 3, fp gauge

has this problem come on gradually or was it just an instant thing? and roughly how far into the throttle are you? basically just wondering whether its during light cruising or full throttle. lmk

This problem came on gradually , not instantly , could it be my fuel injectors....?

you might just need to do a tune up, maybe check your fuel filter, just check all the simple things first, have you modified anything lately that could have helped to make this problem?

Just did a tune up recently, Replaced wires, cap @ rotor, coil, oil change, and fuel filter. Still got this problem... Really confused?

did you check the voltage for the tps?

im assuming you changed the plugs also? looks like its time to start looking at the more complicated stuff

you should hook up a scanner and check for codes. there are most likely codes present

Still sounds like a fuel problem to me......?

Could be a dirty fuel filter. But this same problem happened to me and it turned out to be a dirty MAF wire. If you clean your MAF wire be very careful, it is fragile, and you should use special MAF cleaning fluid.

Yep,sounds like an air meter problem.

i agree its gotta be something with the fuel delivery.

have you hooked up a gauge and measured fuel pressure yet? at idle and under load? don't take it to the dealer, you can fix this yourself...
also scan for codes and see what you get...

Sounds like it's low on magic.
See if you can pick up another stock distributor and install it. My old 94 would jerk, stall out or not start.. even after a tune up, confirming fuel pressure was good and all the other usual ideas. Installed a known good distributor, problem solved.

my 95 gt would also shut down on me and not start afterwards for a while. i put an msd distributor in it and problem was solved. your problem sounds similar.

Yeah check the TFI on the distributor! If You have never changed it then it is money well spent anyway's & You will have a spare
.

If the problem turns out to be your TFI, Ford will pay your costs for repairing it including parts and labor. They lost a class action lawsuit about faulty TFIs.

tfi? sorry dont know alot about these cars....I changed the distributor cap also.

TFI is the square sensor on the distributer that is held on by 3 allen screw's & is notorious for failing on the foxes and will usually die when hot and start back up when cold.

:
94/95 distributors didn't have the TFI mounted on them. It's on the passenger side, under the MAF, mounted to the sheetmetal.

Dude,Just get a code scanner.
It will pay for itself in time trust me.
think of the time and money you'll be wasting trying to guess what the problem can be coming from, etc.
dealership?no! its a ford not a ferrari!
Go with a scan tool, perhaps borrow sombodies.
But if I had to guess,I think the distrubutor is
craping out.If the tfi was the case then your car will drive fine the die out of nowhere .it
will just keep cranking like its not getting spark. But once the car cools down -like magic it'll start right up. I had a distrubutor crap out on me once to...I wish someone told me to get a scanner.lol. I replaced everything but the distrubutor. OH Oh Oh,fyi, Dont buy any type of remanufactured ignition parts! ford oem stuff only. good luck
