I have a chance to get a complete engine from a 97 Mountaineer. I know that only the first couple months of 97 the motors had EGR passages in the intake. If this one is a later motor not a big deal, I can put a different intake on. Do the heads have EGR passages if the intake does not? I know the 97 has GT40 heads not the "P" heads so I can use my BBK headers. What about the thermactor ports on the heads? I hear these are for cold start emissions and will not affect SMOG tests. Anyone else run one of these Exploder/Mountaineer engines in their fox bodies?
