Topic: Help me pick the perfect tranny

So i have a 1990 lx...im doing a whole h/c/i setup but my tranny is kind of old.. I was thinking about just getting a whole new tranny anyways..its going to be a street car that i race on weekends for fun! i have afr 165's edelbrock performer rpm2 intake 70mm tb Ecam i think
since my income tax is coming in...might as well put that money into my car.. What would be the best for this setup!..all opinions welcome!! thanks in advance!

5-speed. get a gforce T-5. People are having good luck with Astro trannies.

of course i wanted to get a 5 speed but ill look into that..also any good sites i can get good prices on some trannys...or do i have to buy yet another part from summit or jegs lol

If you have the money then do a 6 speed conversion. They are pretty bullet proof. If you want to stick with a 5 speed then go with a TKO.

or buy charles tremec if he still has it. That thing is built down into the 8 second zone.

I only got about 1000 to spend but I can maybe save a little more if necessary..imma look into the TKO tho

Unfortunatly a grand isn't gonna get you much. If that's all you have then your best bet is to get a World Class T5 or a used 3550.

i got a tko tranny with a pro 5.0 shifter in my car and i love the way shifts... i would save a bit for a tko
