I have a 3" exhaust from the headers back to some 3" flowmasters with turndowns, I'm trying to get some 3" tailpipes, but i came accross some new 2 1/2 ones. The question is would hurt/help the performance of the car to throw the tailpipes on. my setup is in my sig, and i'm also about to throw on my nitrous if it matters.

3" exhaust is overkill for your car so I would say "no" it won't hurt. You may even pick up a bit of torque

Go with the 3 inch mandrel bent if you can find them because I know that you will always want more power Joe.
If they are true 2.5 mandrel bends then cool for now.
Nitrous loves good exhaust flow.

they are true mandrel bends, I'm asking this question because i heard a lot of opinions, and i just don't want to do something to slow my car down(even if its just a little bit).
