i have a 1992 mustang 5.0lx. and the story goes like this...I left work, started up the stang no prob, then went to a gas station to fuel up. tried to start the car after refueling and it wouldn't even crank. Only thing happening was a click sound. As far as i know the click means dead battery but I don't think its my battery because i just replaced it new 2 months ago and all my electronics work (lights radio etc) and the battery gauge shows i have power. I even tried jumpstarting it!!!

Before you go spending $, make sure that your battery cable ends are clean and tight.
