I have a 1993 gt. Lately my car has been over heating the funny thing is it used to run to cool but as soon as I installed under drive pullies on it The temp went up. It only stays cool if im constantly moving and soon as I stop it just starts slowing climbing. I checked the coolant level thats fine and i also changed the thermosat about six months ago, maybe its the fan clutch? [ August 24, 2007, 06:16 PM: Message edited by: rjl50believer ]

May be the fan clutch, but is normal for the temp to go up a little but nothing to extreme. Check if your radiator's is in good shape and install 180* Themostat. I've heard alot of stories of temps going up after pullies installs. Some people leave the stock water pump and crank pully in. I beleive that this mod exposes the weak points in our high mileage cooling systems. I run pullies on one of my cars and have a good clean -unclogged radiator, and 180* thermostat. My temp needle never comes close to venturing above the half way mark. Make sure all yor cooling components are in good working order. [ August 24, 2007, 06:29 PM: Message edited by: CLEEN 50 ]

it goes from about 1/2 way to 3/4 in a 2 min period when im at a light on a hot day the only time i dont have a problem is on the freeway lol. I just put a new radiator in it about 6 months ago when i did the thermostat. But ill try changing the thermostat to 180 and having the system flushed. thanks for the help [ August 24, 2007, 08:17 PM: Message edited by: rjl50believer ]

Don't the underdrive pulleys turn both the fan and water pump slower? That sounds like your problem
