Hello,
I found a great V8 4.6 liter automatic transmission 1999 Gt convertible.
How difficult and costly would it be to convert into a 5 speed, any rough estimates ? Thanks

I think that's about it, I'm sure someone else will chime in.
As for cost, it really depends where you get your parts and how you shop around,etc.. It will cost anywhere between $400 - $1000 or even more, depending if you use alot of new parts or alot of used/JY parts.

Unless you get the parts dirt-cheap, it WILL be more than $1,000.

Personally I would just try and find a 5-speed car. There are plenty of them out there that can be had for about 10k or less depending on condition and milage.

The conversion was worth every penny I spent.
Just start collecting parts and pull it together as your budget will allow.

I keep hearing that you need a diffrent driveshaft, but I re-used the AOD one in my old vert and it worked fine.
don't forget to get the little stuff, bolts ect.
