Ive had a suttle Ticking sound for about 3 months now which just recently got alot worse. The ticking is coming from the back of the Passenger side head. also now when i go to shift sometimes it will backfire out of the exhaust, but I cant tell if its a Collapsed Lifter or exhauts leak. Oil Pressure is fine and everything on the engine is only 3yrs old with about 10k miles. would a compression test tell me if i got a bad lifter? or are there other ways to check for a collapsed lifter?

Well found out it was an exhaust leak that was caused from an oil leak i had that ran down on to the header on my #4 cylinder exhaust port and i think the oil ate away at the gasket so I replaced it and the ticking has gone away. Thanx for your help guys [Smile]
