REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE MY CAR STARTED FINE AND IDELED GOOD SO I DECIDED TO TAKE IT AROUND THE BLOCK.I ONLY MADE IT DOWN THE STREET AND IT TURNED OFF,IVE CHECKED EVERY THING I CAN THINK OF.I HAVE A STOCK BOTTEM END, E CAM,PERFORMER HEADS,1.7 ROCKERS,SQ VORTEC WITH THE 2.93 PULLEY,42LB INJECTORS AND 90 MAF.I ALREADY CHECKED THE BASICS SPARK,FUEL,AND THE COMPRESSION SEEMS LOW,COULD IT BE THE RINGS????????????????????????????????????????

how hard did you drive it?...if you just took it out with no tune and jammed on it...yeah you might have f-ed up your bottom end....
how new are you lifters?
Check your rockers...maybe something came loose...
did it just die all of a sudden?

YEAH I JAMMED ON IT A LITTLE AND IT JUST DIED ALL OF A SUDDEN AND WOULD NOT START.I ALREADY CHECKED THE ROKERS ON BOTH SIDES AND THEY SEEM FINE AND I DONT THINK MY HEAD GASKET BLEW WERE THINKING ITS THE RINGS BUT I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SURE BEFORE I TEAR IT APART THANKS 4 ANY INFO [ June 11, 2007, 06:18 AM: Message edited by: E's 89 COUPE ]

if it just died, take your ignition control module and coil in to the 'Zone and have them test it. that problem sounds all too familiar.
so. . .will the car turn over, but just not fire??

ILL CHECK THAT TOO AND IT DOES TURN OVER PRETTY SMOOTH IT ALSO HAS SPARK AND FUEL.IF THE MODULE FAILS DO I STILL GET SPARK???

Yes, if the module overheats it will shut off.

i thought that if you blew rings, that you blow a gang of smoke and the car will still run, but just not good. your car isnt starting, so IMO i think its the ignition control module .....let us know

On a 5.0 mustang, if the boost levels are too high, the production 2 bolt engine block will distort and blow head gaskets.

+1 do a compression test. Also, I would double check your intake ducting to make sure nothing came loose

JUST SWAPPED THE DIST FROM MY BOYS CAR AND CRANKED IT AGAIN NOTHING,I ALSO HAVE THE VALVE COVERS OFF AND THE UPPER WITH THE TB.WHEN WE FIRST FIRED IT UP AND SET THE DIST ON TDS IT HAD PLENTY OF COMPRESSION ON THE #1 PISTON AND STARTED JUST FINE???????

YOU CAN SEE THE SPARK COMING FROM THE COIL AND THE WIRES LIKE THEY WERE SEE THROUGH OR SOMETHING COULD THIS CAUSE IT NOT TO START

well if you can see the spark, your ignition probably wont see the spark. i would say thats bad, like not good. can you post a video??

Eddie do you have fuel. I know its a dumb question but I had once installed a new fuel pump that lasted for a month and took a dump.

to save money just replace the wires, cuz obviously youre getting spark from the coil. the spark is grounding somewhere apparently, so dont touch the wires while the car is on until you change those wires or else youll feel like this
