I need to get my new big bore 347 smogged. Does anyone know of a good smog test only shop in the SR area. I am looking for a legitimate cert, but it owould help if they didn't look too close at everything under the hood. 95% of the stuff has carb #'s, but I don't want to get dinged for something stupid like an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Thanks, Craig

Go to "Just Another test only smog station". Its right on Santa Rosa Ave, about 1/4 north of Johnny Franklins. [ May 15, 2007, 11:06 PM: Message edited by: silverLX ]

Thanks for the info.
This whole smog thing is pissing me off. I have tried really hard to keep everything smog legal and they are still making it such a pain in the ass to pass smog.
I don't have the s-trim on right now, but I left the FMU and Boost retard on the car. I had a guy take a look at it yesterday to just let me know if he saw anything he didn't like. He told me that everything has to have a CARB sticker on it. I have the Vortech manual that shows the FMU as part of the kit which is 50 state legal, but he wants a sticker on it. The same goes for the boost retard. I have my Vortech manual showing the part# and a printout from the CARB website showing that it is exempt, but he wants a damn sticker.
I hate this crap!!

Yes, I am definitely not going to have this guy do the actual SMOG. He seemed pretty cool, but he knew too much and looked way too close at the car.
I think that I am going to try and get a few miles on it before I take it in just to make sure everything is okay. I only have 25 miles on the new motor. I think I will put 100 on it this weekend and do my first oil change and then take it in somewhere.

Passed smog with flying colors!! I hope to be out at the track in a couple weeks. I just want to get 500 miles on it before I race it. I will run it NA until 1000 miles, then the S-trim will go back on.
I replaced the stock shortblock with an AD Performance big bore 347. It is a Dart Sportsman block, Scat 3.25 forged crank, Scat forged 5.4 H-beams, and Probe 20.6cc dish 4.125 bore pistons. So it is a 9:1 forged 347. I am hoping for 12.30 @ 110mph NA and 10.99 @ 125mph with 10psi of boost. However, no cage so I will only get one try at the 10.99 and then I will have to dial it back to 11.50. I am thinking that the 12.30 NA will be hard to do with my tiny 1.9 1.6 Edelbrock 6037 heads and my Cobra intake. I hope to find out in a few weeks.
